The Retractable Side Bar is designed for dual use as both an entry step and rocker panel protection. Use as a side step for street use or release step lock to fold up to the rocker guard position for side protection and added off road clearance. High Pressure gas shocks pull & hold the bar in the standard rocker guard position - Step pressure on the bar returns and locks the bar into the step bar position. The Retractable Side Bar/Rocker Guard use 3 mounting points with steel brackets providing strong, stable installation and won't have center flex when used as a step. The manual and automatic positioning can be adjusted using the custom pressure loaded strut. The 2" Steel Tubing construction with 2" steel gussets spanning and connecting the lower slider bar and upper step bar ensures optimum rocker protection when used as a rock slider. Dual Stage textured black powder coated finish is extra durable and blends with factory components. Step position provides a step 7 1/2" below door sill.
